January 3, 2009 — The Genesis Block

The first Bitcoin block was mined on 3 January 2009. Satoshi and the team launched earlier than expected — because on that morning, a UK newspaper headline read: “Chancellor on Brink of Second Bailout for Banks.” The genesis block was mined that same evening, around 18:15 UTC.

Block #2 came six days later. That gap tells the story — they were in a hurry to launch on January 3rd itself. After that, the rhythm settled to roughly ten minutes per block.

Humans need liberty. We don't want to be controlled by a third party. We have freedom of speech — next, we need the freedom to spend our wealth without depending on banks and governments who manipulate without question.

Bitcoin was created with a good vision. It has truth — and it will win.
